Kiss & Tell: Kiss Your Excuses Goodbye and Cozy Up to a Life You Love! by Christina Waschko Of course you are! Whatever you say or want to believe about yourself is true.
Being too old means something different for all of us. So if you believe you are too old to join the ranks of entrepreneurs, you are right. There is nothing I can say that would change your mind? Something like:
Remember, there will always be others who are way better than you are. Better educated! Better looking! Better connected…and so on and forth. What I just wrote is one of the many facts of life! Let me share with you a few examples of late bloomers: Mary Kay Ash was 45 when she founded Mary Kay cosmetics. Laura Ingalls Wilder Writer of "Little House on the Prairie". Wilder didn't publish her first novel until she was 65 years old. Grandma Moses Anna Mary Robertson Moses is one of the biggest names in American folk art. Anna didn't pick up a brush until she was well in her eighties! She was 76 when she cranked out her first canvas. A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada The founder of the Hare Krishna movement was 69 years old before he started the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The founders of McDonald's (Raymond Kroc, 52), Coca Cola (John Pemberton, 55) and Kentucky Fried Chicken (Colonel Sanders, 65) were all over 50 when they established their businesses. And here is another little something to consider: Those aged 55-64 in the US have actually had the highest rate of entrepreneurial activity in the last 10 years. This nugget comes courtesy of; http://www.businessinsider.com/entrepreneurs-over-50-2014-11#ixzz3aGBaDYNP Isn’t this inspiring? If you are still not convinced, or you still feel slightly apprehensive about ‘competing with the young ones’, consider this: They (the single, mid twenty to mid thirty group)’ may be top notch with technology, but they have no clue about how to keep a marriage strong for decades. They know nothing about raising children. They have no clue about how to cool off pre- menopausal midlife heat. Just to name a few! But we, dear reader, we do! We can cope and deal with any given circumstances. We stood the test of time! Our faces tell the story of our life! And we should be proud of it!. We are as capable as we believe ourselves to be. We are as young or old as we want to feel or be! How does the saying go? Age is just a number! And if we treat it as such- magic is on its way!
