The Entrepreneurial G.A.P.

It has been nearly 50 years since Frederick Herzberg wrote his often quoted and often debated article for the Harvard Business Review entitled “One More Time: How Do You Motivate Employees?”. The title itself gives the reader the idea that this is not the first time this subject has been raised and the author is a bit frustrated that he has to explain it again. Perhaps if he were to revisit this article again today the title might be something like “Are You Kidding Me? You are Still Doing That?” It seems that the more we learn about human motivation the less we are willing to apply. How about you, the 21st century entrepreneur? Are you still using motivational methods that have never quite gotten you the results you desire in the first place? How about taking a simple, three question quiz to see where you stand on the subject?

Three simple questions, perhaps a blinding flash of the obvious.
