by Geri Mason,
On my drive in today I caught myself getting overwhelmed with all the stuff on my “to do” list that was in my head. Although I hadn’t gotten to my desk yet, I was already tired from wondering how in the world I would find the time to get everything done. All I wanted was a hotel, room service, a TV, and to be left alone. Of course that wasn’t happening so I stopped dreaming and proceeded with my day.
Our mind is like a computer. Sometimes it needs refreshing, because information gets jumbled up and it’s not operating at capacity. There are items that need to go into the “trash bin.” There are documents that need our attention right away but we skip over them. We don’t want to put in the effort that it takes to respond.
I have on-line courses that I haven’t done because they are boring and I want to do something more enjoyable. I knew the deadline was near but I still skipped over them.
Some of us have files that need to be deleted and others need to be moved around. Every time I go into my “picture” files, I have a hard time getting some of them to download because all my phone pictures are in a separate folder.
We all know ways in which we could do things easier, however we stick to the familiar rather than learn a new way. There are people out there waiting to teach what they have learned. Someone has what you need and need what you have.
Recently I taught someone how to create a document on Canva.com. I am the last person in the world that you would think about to be teaching something on a computer.
If you don’t know how to do something, it’s ok to ask someone. Once you find the person who has what you need life will be so much simpler.
