by Paula Dezzutti Hewlette I am not sure how this zany holiday came about. Research suggests as far back as 2007 it has been corrupting unsuspicious calendars around the world. It seems every time I turn around any number of these potentially infectious celebrations are popping up. I used to blame it on Hallmark as a scheme to get us to buy more cards. You know, put on the pressure for those of us romantics that have the desire to put more love out into the world with every reasonable excuse. As if we needed one. And now, as luck would have it, I have taken on the task to keep your calendar current with all the necessary information so you know what to celebrate when you wake up each morning!
But not to worry; we are not alone in this fight. We have our sense of humor armed and on guard to celebrate and encourage the use of our creative imaginations and big hearts, with their even bigger desire to give love and get love! So on Thursday, September 10th, 2015 help your neighbor understand the different ways that their ideas help their fellow man to change the world. A large number of promotional items are out there should you choose to throw a party or wear some fancy costume to help drive your point across. Or you can even carry a simple light bulb around with you all day and then just point them to this website for the full story. And now we have an entire culture of blogging. This new method of sharing ideas and opinions has cultivated a whole new industry of advertising and professional designations. Who knew that one day someone’s opinion on anything and everything would find its place in the world? And even be the culprit for destroying someone else’s world. Personally I am thinking of taping a night light to my forehead for the rest of my life. Why should this day get only one day of recognition. Heck it might be the most important day of all---bigger than Christmas---if you truly think about it. Why do you think we use all those tiny little night lights on Christmas trees anyway? Now you’re starting to get the picture. Maybe some crazy nut made up the Christmas idea way back when just to get us to eventually make this connection. “Swap Ideas Day”---triggers tiny light bulbs imagery---triggers what we really know is the truth behind all of these zany holidays we immerse ourselves in----“Everyday should be Christmas!” And a Happy New Year! I’ll be waiting for my card……[email protected]
