Every person who has been successful in business or sports or any endeavor has been so by taking control of their thinking. The brain is a huge, mega fast and complex computer containing date of every thought, event, experience, idea, influence and feeling we have ever had. It will search and send us data to match what we focus on. For whatever reason most people focus on things that have not gone well from minor annoyances to great tragedies. These thoughts produce upsetting feelings. If that goes unchecked those feelings bring us similar experiences. It becomes our state of mind and our worldview.  If we focus on things we don't want our life will be filled with what we don't want.  Most self-help book from Napoleon Hill's classic, "Think and Grow Rich" to Tony Robbins' classic, "Unleash The Power Within" are based on this concept.

The first step is to monitor thoughts with the idea of choosing only those that bring good feelings.  Feelings of joy, success, excitement, enthusiasm and similar uplifting ones have been proven to bring those kinds of experiences. Our thoughts and the feelings they produce create the life we live.

We can ask -"Are these thoughts helping to live the life I want? " Are they helping to have what I want?" If they aren't - "What thoughts would I rather have?"  That question is a powerful way to let your subconscious know that you will be choosing what you think, what you focus on, how you feel and what your life experience will be.

The feeling that accompanies a thought tells us if it is helping or pulling us down. Even when a thought comes so fast and so automatically that we don't know what it was we can change it by focusing on something we would rather have which shifts our thoughts, feelings and experience.

Questioning is the beginning. Everyone who has been successful at anything, from the spiritual to business, sports the arts and sciences has managed their thoughts. I have seen this work for my clients and have witnessed them change before my eyes. It has been very awe-inspiring!

Our habitual thoughts seem to be reality so we don't questions them. It is very powerful to ask ourselves - "is this thought real or is it just something I am used to thinking?" If we are to live a life where we fulfill who we are it's important to take time to monitor what we take to be real and our worldview. We are each here to experience the fullness of ourselves, live our true potential and because of that leave the world a better place. Monitoring and choosing thoughts are the tools to do that.
