Art is Never Finished, Only Abandoned.

I believe those words should be etched on the wall of every current and aspiring artist as a reminder to never give up their pursuit of bringing their art to the world. It breaks my heart to see people who abandon their art projects because of different circumstances in their life.

I would like to challenge you to finish what you started because if you don’t, you will be robbing the world of the gifts you have to offer.

Being an entrepreneur in the creative space is not easy. You must understand that you are creating something that was not there before. It’s like I’ve said many times, it takes PEOPLE to bring ideas to life. We don’t have some machine that cranks out ideas with the push of a button. It doesn’t work like that and, quite frankly, I’m glad.

It takes your mind, your spirit, your hustle, your grit to bring art to life. It’s an emotional journey as well. You face criticism, you face people that don’t understand what you are doing, you face self-doubt, and that’s just the start. As you can see, that’s why people abandon their art. It is easy to simply put your project to side and come back to it. The problem with that is- many never come back.

I’m reminded of a quote that was said by the great Les Brown that goes something like this:

The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry our their dream.

I challenge you to rededicate yourself to the pursuit of your art. Do not abandon it because you don’t know who is waiting to be inspired by it.

Yes, you better believe that there is someone out there who is hurting, who needs inspiration, and YOU can unequivocally provide it through your art. You must believe that and if you currently lack that belief, I urge you to then borrow the belief of someone else, even if it’s me because I believe in you!
