Success & Inspiration for Entrepreneurs

Picture

Celebrations are important.  They are the moments in life when we can focus on what is good and fun and exciting.  When there is lots of drama going on its so important to remember the good stuff.  And, no matter what’s going on there is always good stuff.

We celebrate during holidays that are marked off on our calendars- Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, etc. But what about celebrating our small successes that happen all the time.  We are so used to celebrity and fame that if what we accomplish isn’t on that scale it doesn't t seem worthy of celebration.  But it is!  Getting through a difficult day with a packed schedule should be acknowledged and celebrated.  Succeeding at something we’ve tried to accomplish even if it’s losing 2 pounds should be celebrated.

Our birthday definitely is cause for celebration.  Sometimes as we mature a birthday doesn’t seem to be the big deal it was when we were children.  But we didn’t become less worthy.  Our birthday is always cause for celebration.  It is the event that brought us here to do whatever we came to do.

Maybe that touches on something deeper.  Maybe it’s about acknowledging that we are meant to be here and to contribute whatever we contribute.  Some of us contribute things that are dramatic and some of us contribute the things that make up our day to day existence. One is not more important than the other.

The next time you want to dismiss something you’ve accomplished because it isn’t ground breaking please reconsider.  You did it.  You accomplished it.  It deserves to be celebrated at least by you.  We set the standard for how others treat us.  If you celebrate yourself others will also see what you accomplish and join in the celebration.

That brings us to - how do we celebrate?  Taking time for ourself,  going to a movie on a weekday, treating ourselves to a great dinner, going for a  walk on the beach, taking time for coffee with a good friend, taking a day off and just doing absolutely nothing.  It has to be what feels the most indulgent and special to you.  But it has to be something you wouldn’t ordinarily do. Something special.  And sometimes, its good to celebrate just being alive.  Being on this beautiful planet at this moment in time.  If you live in Charleston or other wonderful places you can celebrate the beauty of nature that surrounds us at every turn.  Any excuse for a cerebration is a good one.

Celebration is a time when we see through the clutter of the everyday to what is real.  What brings joy.  That’s what organized (holidays) celebrations do.  But the more we can celebrate just because, the richer and more wondrous our life will be.  What do you want to celebrate?

Here’s to celebrating you not for any other reason than you exist and you are YOU.  That’s all that’s necessary.

Please join us as we celebrate some cutting edge entrepreneurs as they pitch to investors, at What’s The Big Idea? Wed., March 22, The Daniel Island Club.  For tickets:  https://squareup.com/store/entrepreneurmindworld
