SUCCESS & INSPIRATION for Entrepreneurs

What has meaning for each of us is pretty specific.  We like this.  We do not like that.  As we grow and learn and become more this changes.  But for most of us the preferences are pretty clear and strong.

Does this mean that the other side of what we like is wrong?  Are those folks who think that or like that ill informed?  Do they need to be persuaded?  Or, are they like us entitled to like what they like, support what they want to support, think how they want to think?

Most of the time when we feel strongly about something we want to have company in our choice.  Therefore, we try to persuade friends, acquaintances and sometimes anyone who will listen to join us in our conviction.

What does that really say about us?  Why is it that we are not able to let people think what they want to think and like what they want to like?  If we are so secure in our conviction why would we have to drag everyone else along?  Why wouldn’t we see the richness in having many people with many points of view?
Why wouldn’t we have a richer life and a richer world with many, many diverse opinions?

Actually, we do have that diverse world.  And it makes our life richer.  It gives many kinds of opportunities, businesses, kinds  of entertainment, music, games, etc. It’s what freedom is all about. I think sometimes we forget that. it’s also about trust.  Trusting that living in a world where people see and think differently we are safe.  It only becomes unsafe when a person or a group feels they must have everyone think as they do.  Coercion is what makes it unsafe.

When we are free and we support everyone, no matter their difference from us, in their right to think as they do then we are all safe.  We are all free.  It is also a sign of respect for others when we do that. And then we trust that we live in a world that is for us.  For all of us.  That is how peace starts.

Where are the places where you can expand your thinking?  How can you let the ideas of others enrich your life?
My best to you,
Dianne
