During our lifetime, there are many pivotal moments. Those times when we see things differently. A momentary clarity when we see who we are, what we are doing here and what is the best path before us. Often, it lasts just for a few seconds. But it is undeniably there. What do we do with that pivotal moment? Most of the time, we disregard it. We return to our busy life and the many tasks before us. We talk ourselves out of recognizing that something profound has occurred. We dismiss it as a very impractical thought. A dream which is impossible.
But those moments of clarity are very important. They are clues to who we really are and what we can accomplish if we only let ourselves. It can be scary to see ourselves as more than our perceived concept of who we are. It can be unsettling to think we can do so much more than we have allowed ourselves. That we can have a bigger more fulfilling life than se have seen so far. On the other hand, what would it be like if we paid attention to those pivotal moments of great clarity? What if we acted on the insight we received? What if we were not afraid to change our life in a direction that feels fulfilling, where we are our true self? Why do we limit ourselves? Why do we live small lives when we could be so much more? Interesting questions. From a very early age we are told what we can be and what we can have. What our path is. The road we must follow. None of it takes in to account who we are as individuals. What the potential is that lives in each of us that is different. We can live that script and be just fine. However, we will never fully know ourselves. We will never fully feel at home. We will never fully be fulfilled. We have been programmed from our early years not to stand out. Not to attract attention. To fit in. There are always people who do stand out. Who have the courage to be their true self. We admire those people and they become legends but we don’t follow their example. We have “fake” examples. (Please forgive that word.) There are TV show where people seem to be living “the life.” But if you really look at them you will see that they are in a pattern. They are following rather than being authentic. So, what is the answer? My suggestion is that when you have an insightful moment that you pay attention to it. When you do more of them will come to you and a new path will open up for you. You can live a life that feels authentic and fulfilling rather than just putting your time in and following what you have been following. You do have that choice. And the rewards are so much more than you have imagined. Dare to be yourself. Dare to follow your own path. Dare to stand out and be different. Dare to live a life that has deep meaning and is fulfilling on the deepest level. My best to you and much courage, Dianne www.entrepreneurmindworld.com
