No matter what’s going on in our life we have the opportunity to learn how to live better.  It’s all in how we think about something that determines how we will use each experience; those that we name “good” and those that we name “bad.”

While we have been taught that that our current reality is all there is that’s very far from the truth.  What we carry in our minds is what creates our future no matter what the present may look like.

It’s been proven over and over again by people who seem to achieve against impossible odds.  How do they do that?  In their heart, they wanted something different from what they were currently experiencing.  In their minds, they envisioned a reality far different from the one they were living. They believed they could have this far better reality. They believed they could achieve it. If someone asked them how I’m sure they couldn’t have answered.  The “How” was not important at that moment.  The “What” was all that mattered.  A funny thing happens when we are committed to creating something. The whole Universe sends us opportunities, people, happenings that make what we want possible.

Where most of us fall down in this is that we are so taken with what is currently going on we cannot envision anything different. We are so convinced that the door is firmly shut for us we give up. The lesson is-you don’t have to have any idea of the “How” something will come to you.  But you have to be firmly committed to the “What.” Then the “How” will be presented to you.

I have used Bill Strickland as an example before and will keep using him because he so clearly understood this. Out of nothing he created an empire. Harvard Business School has invited him numerous times to give talks because of it.

I won’t go into the details because you can read his book, “Make The Impossible Possible.”  But I will tell you just one of the things he wrote about. After his first ride in an airplane he fell in love with flying. He took a couple of lessons but soon realized he couldn’t continue because of the cost. Leaving the hanger, he happened to see a small airplane for sale. He asked the price then went to the bank and asked about getting a loan. He asked the banker if he could get a loan if he secured a contract where the plan would be leased for lessons. The banker said that would work.

Bill then went back to the instructor and asked if he would pay to use the plane to give more lessons and also would he continue to teach Bill. The instructor said yes to both. Bill got a written contract and took it to the bank got his loan, the plane and his lessons.

That’s just a small example of the kind of thinking that made him a wealthy and inspiring man. You also have that within you. If you learn (and you can) how to discipline your thinking to be focused on what you want and not on what you think you can have your life will change rapidly.

This is something you can do. The people who become successful and wealthy are not more intelligent than you. They are only more focused but you can become that too.  Fun to try it!  Go for it!

My best to you,
Dianne
