Change of seasons has happened. You can feel it in the air even though the temperature may read 90. In life we have change of seasons as well. I’m not talking about age I’m referring to the fact that as we learn about ourselves and life we grow. As we grow our whole life changes. What we thought a month ago may be very different from what we think today.
As we have new realizations our life becomes more. Our business changes too. While we might have the same company how we run it and what we do within becomes different. We can make adjustments in our business because of external trends or from internal realizations.
Businesses are alive just as we are. They grow and evolve. Some of the changes are the next logical step, some are to streamline a process. But if a business doesn’t grow, like us it begins to wither away.
Growth is an important part of life. It is constant and it is exciting and often can be scary. But it is what makes life dynamic and interesting.
So, question – how do you deal with growth? With new direction? With the change in your seasons? Do you fight it? Do you try to manage it? Do you flow with it and use it to make your life and your business better?
I think on any given day we do a bit of all of those things. In the long-run how our life flows depends on which of those we give most of our attention to. You can only force things for so long. We can force ourselves to do things we don’t want to, but eventually we will rebel. When we flow with the changes in ourselves and also use them to improve our business. Everything works much better and we are happier and much nicer to be around.
One of the great things about life is that we get to have a new chance every day - actually every minute to do things better. To make improvements based on current understanding. That gives us the opportunity to try things out and see how we flow with them before making sweeping revisions.
Which makes it less scary and encourages us to experience new things to see how they fit with us and with our business. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. It can be gradual change based on trying things out. And, when we know the right direction that’s the time to really go for it. Enjoy your new season.
What season are you in right now? How are you handling it? Make it fun!
My best to you,
