Timing is everything. We all know the expression. Of course, it’s true. But what I want to talk about is that each of us has our own internal timing. If we try to push it to meet someone’s expectations or to fulfill a goal and it doesn’t match up with where we are it will not work.
Timing is a personal thing. We can feel when it’s time to change direction, move toward or away from something. We can deny it and ignore it but it will persist. When we pay attention to the inner urging and move in the direction it’s pushing us toward, all will be well. At first it might not seem that way, but when we hang in there it will prove to be exactly what we needed to do. It will bring us to the place which is our next step in growth and self-realization. Some people stay stuck and refuse to listen to the gentle urging. Then it becomes stronger. If they continue to ignore it the Universe will set up circumstances where it will be impossible to disregard what is needed. I used the word “do” but sometimes it’s not an action but a change in attitude or belief. Only you know what that is. It can be as obvious as forgiving someone and moving on and being free from any sense of guilt or obligation. It can also be a new sense of awareness that the beliefs we’ve been holding on to no longer serve us or fit who we have become. However, we cannot move before we are ready. Jumping off a still moving train usually doesn’t end well. It requires that we be scrupulously honest with ourselves. Are we holding on because we are scared or is it really not time to make a move? We might be able to fool others but we cannot fool ourselves. As long as you tell yourself the truth all will be well. So, if it’s time to make a change go for it. If you need time to know exactly what you need to do, take it. But always be honest with yourself. Only you know the truth. Here’s the tricky part - we often don’t know the details of what the next step is. We know we have to leave something and we know some of the details of the next step but nothing is concrete. Those are the times we feel we have to wait until everything is clear. Maybe yes, maybe no. Again, honesty with yourself will tell you whether you need to go with the scant information you have and trust that the next steps will be revealed or is it too early. We all have different temperaments. Some of us are leapers and some of us take baby steps. Honor who you are. If you are a leaper go for it since you know the next steps will appear. If you are a baby stepper take the first small step and let the next one appear before moving forward. It’s all up to you - how much belief you have in yourself and in the Universe. But when we honor who we really are all is well. It's all up to you. You get to design your own life. If you are ready to take a leap I'd love to work with you and help you do it.
