Success & Inspiration for Entrepreneurs

Sometimes it’s not a good thing to be able to do a great many things well. What I mean is often there is an assumption that everyone can do what you can (they can’t!) so you don’t see the value of what you do.

I see this a lot in clients, and at times in myself. The other piece in this is that we are trained from a very early age that it’s not done to brag about yourself.  But knowing and bragging are not the same.  Knowing gives inner strength and sustains when doing something challenging or new.  It’s good to remember what you have done. That paves the way for the new path you are embarking on.

Sometimes I see in clients who are working with dynamic people a tendency to take a back seat or to downplay their power.  Person power is an important thing.  It also has nothing to do with power over others.  Personal power is knowing who you are and appreciating it.  It is entering situations knowing you can do whatever you need to do and do it well.

Personal power is something that is inherent in all people even those who don’t know they have it.  People in the victim mode are those who have forgotten they have it.  No matter how humble, financially challenged or lost someone might temporarily be they do have personal power.  You cannot lose it but you can get out of touch with it.

Personal power has to do with the concept of worth.  We all have worth, just as we all have personal power. At this moment in time wealth seems to be the measure of worth and power but those are false measures.  One financial advisor said that what he sees in his clients who are billionaires is they are terrified of losing their money.  That is, of course, not true of all billionaires but it is true of those who have lost touch with their personal power and personal worth.

You can always make money back and you can also get back in touch with your personal power and worth.  It just takes focus, commitment and never giving up as with all things worth having.

My suggestion vis a vis personal power - an exercise that really works.  I’ve used it effectively in many workshops I’ve done and recently with a client.

When you are by yourself feeling the energy in your body. You can do that by focusing on your breathing.  Then feel your energy expand.  Feel it getting larger and larger until it fills the room where you sit.  Then feel it expand out into the area outside where you are.  Breath in how that feels.  Before you leave the room pull your energy back inside yourself.  But keep the sense of your expanded energy field and take it with you wherever you go.  Have fun with it.

More evidence of who you really are.
Best to you,
Dianne
