SUCCESS & INSPIRATION FOR ENTREPRENEURS

What inspires you?  Also, it’s important to note that there is a difference between motivation and inspiration. Motivation is something I would call force that comes from outside you. You can find sources for it in the myriad of books for entrepreneurs.  Especially ones that discuss habits of successful people and magazines that interview successful business owners.  After reading them, many people find something to hold on to that helps them move forward.

Inspiration, however, is something that comes from within.  It is specific to the individual and cannot be generalized to the many.  If someone writes a book about it and it is not about their personal journey it then becomes motivation. We all have access to inspiration.  But it takes a lot of trust to allow that sense to lead us forward and sometimes, to actually change direction.

Every artist, writer, dancer, musician, architect, inventor who is not doing derivative work is being led by inspiration and following in trust. Even entrepreneurs who are doing breakthrough things are being led by it.

What role does inspiration play in your life?  Where do you allow it? Where do you ignore it?  What is your experience with it? How would your life be different if it was your guide before taking action?

I want to suggest that life would have a very different feel if inspiration and not motivation was your guide. It’s not a popular concept, I know.  But as I look at the level of stress, lack of focus, anxiety I see around me, I wonder how their lives would be different if they stopped pushing themselves and allowed themselves to be led but their own specific inspiration? It also moves trusting other people to guide our life to ourselves. Where, in my opinion and experience, is a much better source.  It takes courage to do it since we are trained to follow people we label as successful.  From the time we are little others are held up to us as examples of how to be. Maybe it would be better if we were trained from an early age to listen to our own inspiration and see what it’s like to feel as if our life is really ours and not a copy of someone else’s.

What do you think?  Give it a try.  Let inspiration lead you.  Feel what it’s like to really be you.

My best to you,
Dianne
