Today I talked with two women who were telling the same story. The first one manages her very own unusual business.  I hadn't seen her in a while.  She told me that she had been ill and had to take some time off. She said she knew that she had been pushing so hard that her body finally told her - "enough!".

Right after that I saw another woman friend. For the past several days her computer, her internet, her TV have not been working try as she might. Then today the five gallon water bottle she carried in her car broke. We talked for a bit and she started to cry. She knew that things were starting to breakdown instead of her becoming ill because she was pushing herself mercilessly without any consideration for what she wanted or needed. In fact she didn't even know what she wanted or needed.

We have great inner wisdom and when we don't know enough to say "enough!" it will find a way to stop us so we can't carry on as usual.

Another woman I knew was traveling all over the world for her business.  Glamorous places, one after the other.  Until she ended up in the emergency room with several things gone wrong in her body.

Each of these women worked for themselves.  All of them were older so they had no young children or even aging parents they had to take care of. They each pushed themselves, measuring their worth only in terms of how much they did. None of them paid any attention to the inner voice that was screaming - "STOP!"

None of these women felt worthy.  None of them felt they were enough by themselves.  None of them felt valuable  without doing or being anything else. Two of them used their adult capable children as an excuse to keep the focus off of what they needed and the third used everyone else who asked for help.

There are many men caught in the same trap.  For all of them enough will never be enough. They will never be enough.  There is a myth out there that we have to earn our value and worthiness. If we do enough, accomplish enough we will feel and be worthy.

Worthiness is not something we have to earn.  It is the essence of our being. If we could work because we love what we do and stop when we feel tired or we've had enough what a difference that would make.  Then the joy, excitement and feeling of contentment with life would be dominant within us. We would see the wonder of who and what we are without doing a thing.

You are enough!  Those are NOT empty words.  That is the truth.  And, when you know that your life will change dramatically for the better.

My best to you,
Dianne
