SUCCESS & INSPIRATION FOR ENTREPRENEURS

SUCCESS

In business sometimes things don’t work out.  Sometimes it doesn’t work out publicly.  The question is - “how to deal with it.”  If there is a lot of ego tied up with your business it can be tough.  But, if its taken as a chance to do things better then it becomes palatable.

I just had that experience.  I had a choice - to take it as defeat or to see what I had missed.  I chose the latter.

We are coming into a very interesting time.  Previously if a founder chose to work alone in and on their business it would be difficult but it worked out.  Now more and more founders know that they need a team to get their business out there.

In this regard I have been a slow learner.  I have always worked alone except for hired help. That’s not the same as having a team. If I had learned this lesson earlier I would not be in the position I now find myself in.  Nothing that's going on is irreparable but it is not as smooth as it could have been.

Creating a team for a business takes trust.  Trusting your own judgement and trusting others to bring their best.  Early on I did bring someone in.  It seemed like a good fit because of a good resume but there was something that made it hard for me to trust.  It turned out I was right.  Not that the person was a bad person but it just was not the right fit for my business.

So, to create a team that works for you and your company it needs to fit the specifics of that company.  While a great resume sounds like it’s the right person your gut will tell you if it will work for your particular company. It’s up to you to pay attention to the feelings you are getting. If it doesn’t feel right it’s because it isn’t right.  You don’t even have to know the reason. It’s time to move on to the next person.

But the real thing, at least for me, is allowing others to give opinions different from mine about something I created.  To entertain ideas different from mine.  To do things differently than I would.  For me that’s a big but obviously necessary stretch. It’s something I had to be forced to look at. While I’m good at many things I am not good at everything.  And, that’s where the right team comes in because they add those things I don’t bring to my company.

What do you need to do to let others help move your company forward? Where do you need to build trust to let others give input? What are the things you bring to your business? What are the things you need others to bring?  Answer those questions and act on your answers and your company will take the next steps to success.

How we live our life is reflected in our business and what goes on in it.  The more you pay attention to your choices and why you make them the better for your life and your business. Enjoy your life, enjoy your business.

My best to you,
Dianne

Success is not an easy thing to deal with. It requires a bunch of hard work, patience, understanding and love. We are all challenged to do our best to accomplish that success in our life. If that happens with me, I would be really happy. Everyone must strive for success. Thank you for inspiring us through your post.
