I want to focus on Dreamers today. Not the Dreamers in the political hot topic, but in the sense of those who see the world differently. I recently read something that said it’s okay to be a Dreamer but it is the Builders that really make things happen.  That is one point of view. But it doesn’t take into account two things:  1) some dreamers do bring their vision into reality and 2) whether they make it happen or not Dreamers bring an energy to the planet that is necessary.  We are now in a time when the thing most valued is bringing things to market.  If it doesn’t make a profit what good is it?  seems to be the current thinking.

That is why things like compassion, empathy, fair play, really seeing people for who they are (remember the Avatar greeting – “I see you.”) are missing from many parts of our culture.  That’s why they have to teach empathy in schools now.

Dreamers hold in their vision a world that could be. They hold what is possible.  They are not stuck in what is, they see beyond.  They are the visionaries. They hold the most precious values for a culture.  They are also not without the ability to create things that do make a profit.  However, for them, that is not the most important thing.  Profitability has value but it is not the ultimate value. Remember these dreamers? – Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, who changed our world?

If you have a child that is a dreamer instead of pushing them to be a builder, maybe honor them for the vision they hold.  For what they see as possibility when it feels as if all the doors are firmly closed. We desperately need those dreams to come to fruition now more than ever.  They show us how to improve the things that need improving.  Their hold our future and the future of this planet in their hands, in their minds, and in their visions.

If you are a builder and have dreamers in your life it can be frustrating when you view them through your filter.  But if you are willing to see them from their perspective (it is possible) you will see the great value they bring.  And, if you learn to work together there will be no stopping you.  But it will take each of you valuing the other and what each of you brings to the table.  We need both energies.

Dreamers can also dismiss Builders as being too materialistic.  Some of them are.  But not all.  When we can see the merit in every human we can make huge leaps forward as a human culture. It’s not that hard to do.  The next time you want to disregard someone.  Look for their gifts.  What unique thing do they bring?  What do they see in a way no one else does?  Take out “what can they do for me?” from the equation so you can really see them.  There was a book entitled, “Gifts Differing.” That says it perfectly.

So, if you are a dreamer, know that you have great value.  If you are a builder know that when you incorporate dreamer values into what you build you can change the world.  We need all of you and we need you now.
You can make a difference.  What you focus on where you put your energy can change things. Never underestimate your influence. My best to you,DianneDestiny Coachwww.entrepreneurmindworld.com/destiny-coach
